The rugs of this region are globally recognizable for their design, pattern and unique color. In many areas of this region including Saman and Chaleshtar, despite their close adjacency in terms of geographical and socio-cultural closeness predominantly in the art of weaving; many similarities and dissimilarities are present and each area bestows its own visual foundations. One of the most famous and well-known designs of Chahar-mahal and Bakhtiari especially in the mentioned areas is the Kheshti design. The design displays unique patterns and motifs that are highly diverse and the main purpose of this paper is centered on introducing the Kheshti design and its characteristics. <br />In this paper, examples of the most renowned Kheshti rugs of the two areas are chosen and their antiquity and visual eminence is explored. Furthermore, their context and background are concentrated upon to both identify their connections and divergences and also a structure is presented with the intention of reviving the patterns for contemporary production in order to boost their place in national and global economy. Additionally, the distinctive motifs of the rugs that include principal, subsidiary and miniature motifs are introduced and analyzed. <br />  منطقة چهارمحال‌وبختیاری یکی از مناطق برجسته در حوزة هنرهای سنتی و صنایع دستی به‌خصوص فرش دست‌بافت است. فرش این منطقه به دلیل داشتن شاخصه‌هایی نظیر طرح، نقش و رنگ مختص خود جایگاهی ویژه در دنیای هنر و صنعت فرش دارد. اکثر مناطق و نواحی این استان به‌خصوص مناطق سامان و چالشتر علیرغم هم‌جواری جغرافیایی و مشترکات فرهنگی و اجتماعی در هنر بافندگی، دارای وجوه اشتراک و افتراق و گونه‌گونی طرح و نقش و عناصر بصری مختص خویش است. یکی از طرح‌های مشهور و برجستة منطقة چهارمحال به‌ویژه مناطق یاد‌شده، طرح خشتی است. این طرح و نقش‌مایه‌های موجود در آن دارای تنوعی است که نتایج و یافته‌های ناب حاصل از جست‌وجوهای میدانی این پژوهش شاخصة مهم آن است. <br />در این مقاله، نمونه‌هایی از اصیل‌ترین فرش‌های خشتی هر دو منطقه براساس قدمت و کیفیت بصری، انتخاب و بررسی شده و جایگاه مفاهیم و نقطه‌ثقل آن‌ها احصاء و طبقه‌بندی شده است تا علاوه بر معرفی وجوه اشتراک و افتراق‌ فرش دو منطقه، سبک مناسب و تعریف شده‌ای برای احیای نقشه‌ها و به مرحلة تولید رساندن آن‌ها معرفی شود تا از این طریق بتوان سهم بیشتری از بازارهای داخلی و خارجی به‌دست آورد. همچنین این مقاله نقش‌مایه‌های شاخص فرش‌ها را که شامل نقوش اصلی و فرعی و ریز‌نقش‌ها می‌شود، شناسایی و معرفی کرده است. پژوهش حاضر به روش میدانی کتابخانه‌ای تهیه شده و از نوع تحلیلی توصیفی است.
