This braided motif depicts the continuation of ancient symbolism of the land of Guilan until the present day. The present study seeks to realize the symbolic and pictorial concepts of animal motifs in Guilan’s Chador Shab. The purpose of the research is to analyze the semantics and background of the designation knowledge of Chador Shab as a traditional woven. The research method is descriptive-analytical. The method of collecting library data is through noting and picture reading. Data analysis was performed qualitatively. Based on the study findings, the background of the presence of animal motifs in the folklore culture and ancient art of Guilan can be demonstrated. Caprinae symbolizes fertility and also the Aries and arrival of spring, deer is the evader of evil and guardian of elements of good, bird is the heavenly symbol that is the guardian of the sacred plant, butterfly symbolizes change from stage to stage. Most animal motifs are associated with the concepts of benevolence, fertility and excess. An in-text study of popular beliefs as well as antiquities of the region show the continuity of symbolic thought in the Guilan art. چادرشب، پارچه­ای است که به شکل سنتی در گیلان بافته می شود. این بافته مزین به نقوشی است که تداوم نمادگرایی کهن سرزمین گیلان را تا عصر حاضر به تصویر می­کشد. پژوهش حاضر در پی پاسخ به این پرسش است که مفاهیم نمادین و ریشه­های تصویری نقوش حیوانی چادرشب گیلان چیست. روش تحقیق توصیفی تحلیلی است. روش گردآوری مطالب کتابخانه­ای از طریق فیش برداری و تصویرخوانی است. تجزیه تحلیل داده­ها به صورت کیفی صورت گرفته است. بر اساس یافته­های تحقیق می­توان پیشینه حضور نقوش حیوانی را در فرهنگ فولکلور و هنر باستانی گیلان نشان داد. بزسانان نماد باروری هستند و نماد برج حمل و فرا رسیدن بهار است، گوزن دورکننده شر و نگهبان عناصر خیر است، پرنده نماد آسمانی که عموما نگهبان نماد گیاهی مقدس است، پروانه نماد تغییر و تبدیل از مرحله­ای به مرحله دیگر است. غالب نقوش حیوانی با مفاهیم خیر همچون برکت، باروری و فزونی همراهند. مطالعه درون متنی در باورهای مردمی و نیز آثار باستانی منطقه، تداوم حیات تفکر نمادین را در هنر سرزمین گیلان نشان می­دهد.  https://www.sysislamicartjournal.ir/article_95821_50b01615e10f4404c61c2494b0870657.pdf
