Abstract
Context and purpose: One of the literary topics of the last century is the review and correction of literary texts, especially the text of the Shahnameh. In the last few decades, the Shahnamehs edited by Jul Mol, Moscow Press, Mehri Behfar and Jalal Khaleghi Motlaq have been recognized as the original and authentic versions. This article aims to examine some verses of the love story of Zal and Rudabe based on the mentioned copy, which have been put in square brackets as a sign of doubt about their authenticity, citing evidence. This research has been written based on library studies and the aforementioned manuscripts and with descriptive-analytical method. The purpose of this research is to familiarize with the form and basis of the story, culture, and folk rituals of ancient Iran and preserve the originality and details in the verses of the Shahnameh, this masterpiece of Persian literature and the preserver of Iran's national identity, which was not included in this revision for any reason.
