Abstract
The dimension of time is prominently reflected in artistic and literary works, particularly in Iranian miniature painting, where the concept of time is of significant importance. In the study of narrative, time is a key topic addressed by narratologists, notably Gérard Genette, a French structuralist who has played a crucial role in developing the theory of narrative time as a fundamental component of storytelling. Genette's theory encompasses three axes: order, duration, and frequency.  The narrative techniques, the diversity of literary genres, and the representation of time in the structures of Asfar-e Kataban and Sal-ha-ye Abri distinguish these novels from others. This article examines how time is manifested in both works, highlighting the elements that have influenced the narrative techniques of each author. Employing a descriptive-analytical approach based on Genette's structuralist perspectives, the study reveals that the temporal element in both novels appears more frequently compared to other literary works. Both authors have constructed their narratives by shifting from chronological time to narrative time, effectively fragmenting present time to transform chronological sequences into narrative structures. This approach has prompted both authors to modify the classical structure of the novel.
