The Journal of Islamic Art Studies implements its peer-review and publication processes in accordance with research ethics principles and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any behavior that compromises the integrity or validity of research is considered research misconduct.
Examples of Research Misconduct:
· Fabrication of data
· Falsification of data or images
· Simultaneous submission of a manuscript to multiple journals
· Duplicate or redundant publication
· Authorship disputes or violations
· Concealment or misreporting of conflicts of interest
· Breaches of ethical standards in human, cultural, or field research
Investigation Process (Aligned with COPE Flowcharts):
1. Receipt of a misconduct report from reviewers, editors, readers, or similarity-checking systems.
2. Initial assessment by the editor to evaluate the evidence and determine the need for follow-up.
3. Request for explanation from the corresponding author and collection of additional documentation.
4. Review by the journal’s Ethics Committee, leading to one of the following actions:
· Minor correction of the article
· Publication of a corrigendum
· Issuance of an expression of concern
· Retraction of the article
· Restriction on future submissions by the authors
5. Post-decision actions include official publication of corrections, linking to the original version, and notification of relevant institutions.
