Abstract
Habermas's theory of communicative action has introduced a novel innovation in the fields of philosophy, sociology, and political thought. This theory integrates two perspectives—introverted and extroverted—using the concepts of the lifeworld and system, shifting from a paradigm of consciousness-oriented rationality to one centered on language in the form of discourse. It establishes a shared communicative lifeworld that encompasses a background of common meanings and structural elements, enabling social reproduction. The integration of action and structure theories effectively combines liberal and Marxist theories on society into a new critical social theory. Habermas's theory emphasizes the role of social reason, language, and dialogical ethics in liberation from oppression. This research focuses on examining the connection between communicative action, social reason, and inter-subjective agreement in Habermas's perspective and adapting it to social themes in contemporary painting.
