Abstract
Appropriate design of tourism-targeted villages can create a suitable platform for the presence of residents and tourists. Understanding the nature of rural landscapes and how human factors influence their preservation are among the important goals of environmental planning and design. The research method of this study is quantitative-survey, and the statistical population consists of 572 residents and tourists of Masuleh city. To evaluate the effects between the variables of place attachment (physical, social, individual, and spatial), satisfaction (social, functional, and texture), and rural landscape (morphology, climatic elements, and human factors), structural equation modeling was used, and to examine the difference between residents and tourists, the Mann-Whitney U test was employed. The results showed that from the perspective of residents (spatial component) and tourists (social component), place attachment leads to increased satisfaction, and the functional component of satisfaction also leads to the enhancement of the rural landscape in Masuleh. With the difference that from the residents' viewpoint, the 'spatial component' of place attachment, and from the tourists' viewpoint, the 'physical component' of place attachment has the greatest impact on enhancing the rural landscape.
Research Objectives:

Identifying the difference between residents and tourists regarding the impact of place attachment on the sense of satisfaction for enhancing the rural landscape.

Evaluating the effects between the variables of place attachment (physical, social, individual, and spatial), satisfaction (social, functional, and texture), and rural landscape.

Research Questions:

What differences exist between the residents and tourists of Masuleh city regarding the impact of place attachment on the sense of satisfaction for enhancing the rural landscape?

What effects exist between the variables of place attachment, satisfaction, and rural landscape?
