Throughout history, the house has been recognized as the most crucial space that adapts to human life. However, due to insufficient understanding of users and their needs, significant changes are observed in current housing and construction practices, leading to the loss of identity in homes and a trend towards uniformity across the country. Adopting an architecture based on understanding needs, lifestyle, and local beliefs that have evolved into cultural identity over time can enhance the sense of belonging to space and overall satisfaction of residents in meeting their real needs. In fact, this design component is the intermediate space. The purpose of this study is to analyze the spatial connecting spaces of traditional and modern dwellings in the Azerbaijan region, emphasizing how buildings are situated within these spaces. The research methodology is a combination of descriptive, qualitative, analytical, and logical reasoning approaches. The study involves library, internet, and field research, using both quantitative and qualitative data. After examining traditional and modern houses in Ardabil, Tabriz, and Zanjan, the study proposes optimal solutions for integrating traditional architectural connecting spaces into modern homes in the Azerbaijan region. Notably, contemporary architecture in the region often overlooks past principles and concepts, which are sometimes replaced with unfamiliar definitions due to lack of awareness. Meanwhile, the same audience has expressed needs that have diminished or faded over time. Ideal housing is based on human values, embodies cultural values, and provides peace and comfort.
